Nasal Specific Technique

A gentle, non-invasive approach to relieving sinus pressure, headaches, and moreโ€ฆ

If you've been struggling with chronic sinus issues, persistent headaches, snoring or the lingering effects of a head injury, you may be searching for a solution that goes beyond temporary symptom relief. Nasal Specific Technique (NST), also known as Bilateral Nasal Specific or Nasal Cranial Release, is a specialized procedure that has helped many patients find relief where other approaches have fallen short.

What Is Nasal Specific Technique?

NST is a gentle, targeted treatment that uses a small balloon device inserted into the three nasal meatuses between each turbinate. The balloon is quickly inflated and deflated, creating subtle movement in the cranial bones and opening up the nasal passages. This brief adjustment helps restore normal alignment, improve airflow, and promote natural drainage, supporting your body's ability to heal itself.

Developed by Dr. J. R. Stober, in the 1930โ€™s, this technique has been refined over generations to help patients with a wide range of concerns.

Conditions That May Improve with NST

While individual results vary, patients have reported significant improvement with:

Sinusitis and chronic nasal congestion โ€“ Opens passages and stimulates mucus drainage

Headaches and migraines โ€“ Many patients find lasting relief from headache pain

Post-concussion symptoms โ€“ including brain fog, dizziness, and fatigue

TMJ dysfunction and jaw pain โ€“ Supports improved jaw function

Snoring and sleep apnea โ€“ Improves nasal breathing during sleep

Vertigo and balance issues โ€“ Restores cranial alignment affecting balance pathways

Chronic fatigue and brain fog โ€“ Enhances oxygen flow and nervous system function

Tinnitus and ear problems โ€“ Addresses cranial nerve function

What to Expect During Treatment

A typical session lasts approximately 15 minutes. The procedure involves:

  • A small balloon gently placed in the nasal passages.

  • Brief, targeted inflation to adjust cranial structures.

  • Quick deflation and removal.

While the sensation is unusual and not necessarily "comfortable," most patients tolerate it well and find that it becomes easier with subsequent visits. Many experience improved breathing and reduced facial pressure immediately after treatment.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most patients benefit from a series of 3 to 4 treatments, scheduled approximately once per week. Some patients notice improvement after just 1 to 2 sessions, while others may need as many as 7 treatments to achieve optimal results. Your provider will assess your individual response and recommend a personalized treatment plan.
